Bibliophiles Review: Dietland

We know it’s been a while, but Trilby and Charlotte are back to tackle an extraordinary book for this installment of Bibliophiles Review. That’s right, Sarai Walker’s debut novel: Dietland. Walker skewers the diet industry and many other realities of the misogynistic world we live in by giving us the self-discovery story of Alicia “Plum” Kettle, who ghostwrites a teen advice column for a glossy women’s media giant. In an addictive, sharp and sassy style, Walker weaves a story that is part dystopian tale, part feminist YA novel, part Fight Club for pissed-off women (Walker is open about the fact that the work by Chuck Palahniuk inspired her). We also got in touch with Sarai Walker for a quick Q&A, which you’ll find below our conversation.
